The University of Northern Colorado WUE participation
This Scholarship allows students to pay tuition at 1.5 times the resident tuition rate (a savings of approximately $5000 per year). It is automatically offered to non-resident students who meet eligibility requirements.
Eligibility - Official residency in one of the states that participate in the WUE program.

- For incoming freshman or transfer students who have not previously attended Northern Colorado.
- Freshmen must have a score of 101-105 on the Northern Colorado Eligibility Index.
- Transfer students need to transfer in at least 24 credits earned after high school graduation with a 2.5 GPA.
Program Highlights
You may participate in an internship or another exchange program and retain your WUE status, the internship must be a credit-bearing University of Northern Colorado course and the exchange enrollment must generate legitimate UNC credit hours.
Renewal Requirements
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress
- Earn at least 24 credit hours per academic year (12 credit hour minimum per semester).
- Continuous enrollment in fall and spring semester of each year.
- Meet the eligibility requirements for your academic major.
- Enrollment in programs through the Office of Extended Studies will not meet on-campus enrollment requirements.
- Eligibility will continue until graduation or a maximum of four years for freshmen, a maximum of three years for sophomores, a maximum of two years for juniors, a maximum of one year for seniors and a maximum of three years for transfer students.
