Transferring to UNC

Interested in transferring to the University of Northern Colorado? We’ll work with you to make it happen.

You’re a transfer student if you have:

  • Attended a post-secondary institution after graduating high school

You’re a strong candidate for admission as a transfer student if you have:

  • Thirteen or more transferable credits
  • 2.4 cumulative GPA from all schools attended

Before you apply to UNC, gather the following:

  1. Nonrefundable Application Processing Fee, which can be paid online with a credit card.
    • $45 for students transferring from a four-year or two-year institution
  2. Official College Transcript(s) from each institution attended
    • Submit your transcript(s) electronically to UNC.Transcripts@unco.edu
  3. Residency Information *if you are under 23, this should be your parent’s information
    • Drivers license, voter registration card,
  4. High School Transcripts and ACT or SAT Scores, if you have completed fewer than 30 college-level semester credit hours.

The Office of Admissions reviews applications on a rolling basis, which means you will receive an admission decision two to three weeks after submitting your application and all supporting documents. To graduate with a bachelor’s degree from UNC, which requires 120 semester credit hours, you must complete a minimum of 30 credit hours through UNC.

*For priority consideration of financial aid, you must be admitted prior to March 1.

Fall Start

Your application, admission materials and supporting documents for the fall term should be received as soon as possible. To be considered for admission-based scholarships, your application must be completed by June 15. Applications will be considered on a space-available basis until August 1.

Spring Start

Your application, admission materials and supporting documents for the spring term should be received as soon as possible. To be considered for admission-based scholarships, your application must be completed by November 1. Applications will be considered on a space-available basis until December 1.
