Morgan Boyack

Associate Director

Morgan Boyack I love talking to prospective students. Making a decision on which institution to attend is one of the biggest decisions they will make. I encourage all students to do their homework when it comes time to decide which institution is right for them. Come for a campus visit, visit with a department or professor, talk with a current student and take a campus tour. The more homework you do, the better the decision you will make. Enjoy your educational experience, it is a great time of your life.

Kevin Berg

Senior Admissions Counselor

Kevin BergWhat makes the University of Northern Colorado great? UNC offers a liberal arts education that prepares students for after graduation. With over 100 academic majors, 150 clubs and organizations and a variety of fine arts and athletic programs you will find what you are looking for at UNC! One of the best parts of my job is assisting students and families in the college search process. I encourage everyone to visit campus, meet with a professor, go on a campus tour; and see why the University of Northern Colorado is second to none!  Go Bears!

Josh Baros

Admissions Counselor

Josh BarosAs an alum of UNC I have seen the many great things that this university has to offer in both academics and campus life. Smaller class sizes and the careful attention given to students has set UNC apart academically. Growing division one athletic programs and a broad choice of residence halls are examples of what has elevated UNC in campus life. With all the schools out there to choose from my goal is to help you consider the many possibilities here at the University of Northern Colorado and to offer my support as you apply.

Chris Bierdeman

New Student Events Coordinator/Admissions Counselor

Chris BierdemanI graduated from Taylor University in May 2002 with a degree in Business Administration and a public relations minor. I was very involved in music and drama, participating in both vocal ensembles and musical productions. I also had an opportunity to study abroad in London, England, which I think is an experience that every college student should take advantage of. I even spent a year as a tour guide in the Admissions Office! I am a huge fan of the university experience—the education, the life-changing experiences, and the unlimited opportunity that is presented—and I enjoy the chance to work within that setting as an admissions counselor to be able to bring students’ futures to reality.

Chris Freeman

Admissions Counselor

Chris FreemanI’m a New England native that is thrilled to now be living in northern Colorado. I attended college in Florida and Virginia, majored in Family and Child Development, and loved the experience of making life–long friends and learning in an environment that only college can offer. I love meeting with prospective students and promoting such a special university here at UNC. I attended two small universities myself, and benefited greatly from smaller class sizes and more one–on–one time with my professors. The students, faculty, and staff of UNC are some of the friendliest and most helpful people you will ever meet. You get a personalized experience at UNC due to its smaller size and wonderful employees, while also benefiting from all the resources that a major university has to offer. I am here to assist you during this special transition in your life, and nothing makes me happier than guiding students in their educational journey.

Chris Garcia

Admissions Counselor

Chris GarciaHi, I just have to say how excited I am to be working with incoming students as they make the transition from high school to college. As a First-Generation, Mexican-American student and a recent graduate of UNC, I would love to share my journey through college with you as you commence yours. I know that it can be hard to take on such a huge responsibility, and we are here to help you make that transition.

A word of advice is to visit the school you plan to attend and see if you feel comfortable there; then, after being admitted, get involved!! Here at UNC, we have multiple opportunities in Academics, Athletics, Clubs & Organizations, Student Government, Cultural Activities, Student Activism and a range of other ways in which you can become a member of our campus community. I really look forward to meeting you and finding different ways to help you have the best college experience possible.

Derrick KeetonWhat can I say about the University of Northern Colorado? It’s where dreams can come true and more. I graduated from UNC in January of 2009 with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a minor in sociology. While attending UNC I played baseball for the Bears! After graduating from UNC I learned some much about myself and now have the necessary skills that I need to succeed. Not only do students learn from the professors, but other students as well. Allow UNC to help you grow and develop into the individual that you will grow to be.

I am here to assist you in any way that I can to help make the transition to UNC as easy as possible. Dana Kohler

Admissions Counselor and Business Coordinator

Dana KohlerThere is no better job than being able to share the excitement and experience of college with prospective students. Being a native of Colorado I was eager to stay in the state. However, once I attended college, I was lucky enough to be persuaded by fellow students who studied abroad. …And off to Australia I went! I cannot say enough about study abroad and the opportunity that goes with it. I want EVERYONE to not only have a great college experience but to make the most of it by being involved. Welcome and good luck!

Angie Nickerson

Admissions Counselor

Angie NickersonAs a graduate student at UNC, I know how hard the college transition can be. Attending our university has given me great insight into how to ease this process for incoming students. While this move from home can be difficult at times, my job is to give you all the support and guidance you need to enjoy the college experience. Starting college is such an exciting time, and UNC has so much to offer our new incoming students. My favorite part about UNC is the personal approach the university has. We have a variety of student organizations, more accessible professors, and excellent residence halls, all which make UNC feel like a close community. Since I have arrived from Michigan, everyone at the university has approached me as a unique individual on a personal level. We strive in admissions to make you feel the same! GO BEARS!
