HIGH SCHOOL CONCURRENT CREDIT

A Program for Colorado Residents Enabling High School Juniors and Seniors to Earn College Credit While in High School

Three concurrent enrollment options are available:

Option I - Fast Track Program

For the student who is a high school senior and has met high school graduation requirements. The Fast-Track program may not be available at every high school as high school participation is optional. If the high school participates, the tuition portion of the costs are paid by the high school. The student pays for books and transportation. Students are required to contact their high school to determine if their school district participates in the Fast-Track Program. At UNC, students enrolled in the Fast-Track Program are able to take one or more courses, up to full-time enrollment.

Option II - Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program

For the student who is a high school junior or senior and has not met high school requirements. Enrollment in the Post-Secondary Enrollment Option program must be approved by the high school. School districts reimburse students for the tuition if they pass the course(s). The maximum number of courses permitted is two per term for fall and spring semesters only. The student pays for books and transportation. The courses taken can count for both high school graduation requirements as well as college credit at UNC. In addition, these college credits may be transferable to another college or university.

Option III - College Acceleration Program

For the student who is a high school junior or senior and wants to accelerate his or her college program whether or not the graduation requirements have been met. Upon receiving the permission from the high school, juniors or seniors will be permitted to take one or more courses per term on the UNC campus. Enrollment can be for the fall, spring, or summer term. The student or student's family is responsible for the tuition, book and transportation costs. The courses taken will count as college credit and give the student a head start on earning a college degree, saving both time and money.
