National Undergraduate Scholarship

You May be Eligible

The University of Northern Colorado is pleased to announce a unique scholarship program designed to recognize non-resident students who have reached a high level of academic achievement. A $5,000 renewable scholarship known as the National Undergraduate Scholarship will be offered automatically to each applicant to UNC who meets the eligibility criteria. Early application is highly recommended. The program is open only to students enrolling for the first time at UNC and enrollment must begin with fall semester.

Eligibility-Transfer Students

You will receive this scholarship if you have: Earned at least 30 semester hours of transferable credit with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above by the application deadline date of June 15. Transfer students must provide documentation of all previous collegiate work completed with proof of a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade point average in 30 or more credit hours by June 15. To determine eligibility for the National Scholarship program, a new cumulative grade point average will be calculated from all credit attempted at all institutions attended (including repeated classes) using UNC policies and procedures. Students must also meet the eligibility requirements for their academic major. Final eligibility of transfer students will be pending the receipt of all transcripts from all institutions previously attended. International students are not eligible for the National Undergraduate Scholarship.

Renewal Requirements

  • All National Undergraduate Scholarship recipients must meet the following conditions in order to retain their scholarship eligibility status:
  • Recipients are required to maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 and earn at least 24 credit hours per academic year. Failure to achieve these standards will result in the permanent loss of the National Undergraduate Scholarship.
