Hometown: Lakewood, CO
Academic Year: Senior
Major: Vocal Music Education with a Teaching Endorsement in Spanish

Things I am Involved in:

BearCatholic, UNC ProLife Guards, American Choral Director’s Association, and school (in order of importance ;))

My Plan After College:

Who knows! But I hope to be an Elementary Music and/or Spanish teacher…somewhere.

Why I Chose UNC:

Originally I wanted to apply to UNC’s nursing program (because it is excellent!), but then I did an internship in a hospital and when I passed out at the sight of blood I realized nursing was not my calling. Luckily I discovered a new passion for music and teaching, and UNC just so happens to have a wonderful Music Education program too! So it worked out perfectly! I was also extremely comforted by the small class sizes.

Advice To My Freshman Self:

Force yourself to stay at school (i.e. DON’T go home for the weekend) for at least the first month of school. That’s when everyone is looking for friends and getting involved, and you don’t want to miss out on that!

If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional, with whom would it be?

The Quote I Live By:

“Practice makes perfect, but nothing’s perfect, so why practice? (I am a music major and I do practice, but it’s a good point, right?)
