Vicki Gorrell became Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Northern Colorado in October 2010. She brings a deep commitment to education with more than 30 years of experience as administrator and teacher in both public and private educational institutions.

The Development office provides opportunities for alumni, friends, and organizations to make charitable contributions to support teaching and learning at UNC. Gorrell believes that gifts to UNC are an investment in our own communities and in our future: “Student scholarships, support for academic and co-curricular programs, and gifts for state-of-the-art facilities make it possible to educate informed and engaged community members—whether those communities are local or global.”

The Alumni Association creates opportunities for lifelong connections between alumni and their alma mater and among one another. A network of more than 100,000 UNC alumni worldwide serves as a powerful source of support for one another, for current students, and for the university.

Gorrell has a B.A. in English from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania and an M.A. in Journalism from Ohio State University. She taught 7th and 8th grade English in Florida for eight years before launching a career in higher education, working in development, alumni relations, and communications at Ohio State. Before coming to UNC, she was Vice President for College Advancement at Kalamazoo College (Mich.). She served as Vice President for University Relations at Weber State University in Utah from 1997-2006.

Gorrell and her husband, Bob Mondi, live in Greeley. They enjoy hiking and are avid readers.
