Ronald Lambden has served as General Counsel, as well as Vice President and Secretary to the Board of Trustees, at the University of Northern Colorado since 2002. An attorney in the Greeley area since 1976, Lambden served as Associate General Counsel for Monfort, Inc./ConAgra, partner in a general practice firm and Assistant Attorney for the City of Greeley. His understanding of Greeley’s commerce and governance make him uniquely qualified to oversee all legal matters for the University and advise the President and Board of Trustees.

Lambden is proud to be a part of UNC’s efforts to keep costs low while maintaining high standards in the classroom and giving every student the personal attention that other universities are unable to offer. He enjoys the variety of issues that cross his desk each day and the opportunity to collaborate with students. Lambden is also a community leader, serving as Chairman of the Colorado Agricultural Value-Added Development Board and member of the Colorado Agricultural Development Authority.

Lambden received both a Bachelor and Master of Arts from the University of Delaware. He received Air Force training in Colorado before serving in Vietnam, where he was awarded a bronze star. He then served as Group Intelligence Officer at the Air Force Survival School at Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington. After leaving active duty he returned to Colorado, graduating with a law degree in 1973 from the University of Denver. Lambden enjoys reading, cooking, hiking and traveling. He and his wife Donnie, a retired statistician who earned a Masters Degree at UNC, have a grown son.
