Randal Haack came to the University of Northern Colorado in 2006. As Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Dr. Haack is responsible for leadership and coordination of the fiscal and physical operation of the University, including budget, business services, facilities management, student financial services, environment health and safety contracts and capital construction. He works closely with the President, Board of Trustees and senior staff to address issues relating to governance, fund raising, institutional visioning and more.
A first generation college graduate, Haack’s father impressed upon him the idea that education could make great changes in the world possible. Dr. Haack received his Ph.D. in Education Administration with an emphasis in higher education and management from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, an M.A. of Public Administration from UN-Omaha and his B.S. in Business Administration from UN-Lincoln. Before coming to UNC, Dr. Haack served the University of Nebraska at Kearney as Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance from 1997 to 2006. He has also taught at the college level and particularly enjoys working with graduate students.
Dr. Haack loves being engaged with his community and is committed to strengthening UNC through collaborations with other universities. He serves on the Greeley Colorado Chamber of Commerce Board, has presented at several conferences of the Rocky Mountain Business Officers and has been recognized by the National Association of College and University Business Officers. He and his wife Kathy enjoy spending time with their three sons. One of their favorite family activities is rebuilding antique and classic cars.
