Round 2 Campus Conversations
Committee members agreed that while students are an implied part of every goal, there should be a goal that specifically addresses students.

Theme Editing
• Agreed: Effect a climate change to achieve inclusive decision-making, dialogue, shared governance, respect for all members of the University.
• Agreed: Invest in the retention and recruitment of high quality faculty, staff and administrators.
• Agreed: Provide and maintain university facilities and infrastructure appropriate to our academic mission and functions.
• Discuss later: Focus on the mission of a high-quality liberal arts education, specialized programs, and graduate education.
• Agreed to add new theme: Improve and develop the quality of student experiences across the university. (would be a good place to fold in students’ comments)
• Agreed: Increase resources through clearly identified goals that are communicated broadly and through long-term financial planning.
• Agreed: Build institutional identity and reputation
• Discuss later: Engage the community

Committee members agreed to e-mail additional comments on these themes by 9 a.m. Monday.  They will be compiled and sent to the committee by noon for further comments. The deadline for the second round of comments will be 5 p.m. Monday.

Next Meeting
Committee members agreed to meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, to finish editing themes for the third round of Campus Conversations.
