Colorado Resident Freshman Scholarships
Students must be enrolled in 12 or more credits each semester. Students in off-campus cash-funded programs through the Office of Extended Studies are not eligible for institutional scholarships listed here unless noted otherwise. These scholarship are available to students entering UNC for the first time and pursuing a first bachelor's degree.
Competitive - 3 awards given annually. Colorado resident admitted to UNC and meet criteria by March 1. Scholarship
Eligibility Index of 140 or above for consideration. Credentials verifying eligibility must be on file at UNC by March 1.
Complete UNC Universal Schlarship Application. Renewable with cumulative UNC GPA of 3.5 or above in 24 semester
hours earned academic year. Maximum of 8 semester of undergraduate eligibility.
Amount: $5,000/year ($2,500 Fall/$2,500 Spring)

UNC Greeley Promise ScholarshipMust graduate from a District 6 Greeley high School or Dayspring Academy in
2009; Colorado Resident; must be a new freshman admitted for Fall 2009; Must
complete the 09-10 FAFSA; Complete Universal Application by 3-1-09; Must qualify
for need based Financial Aid to receive grant fund to cover tuition, fees and
books; If a student doesn't qualify for need based aid, a $2,000 award will be
offered; Renewable as long as student completes the FAFSA each year and maintains Satisfactory Academic
Progress.

UNC Valedictorian ScholarshipAutomatically offered to Colorado resident ranked first in their high school
graduating class (Sorry - home-schooled students are not eligible). Ranking must
be documented by high school counselor on transcript submitted by March 1.
Renewable if student maintains satisfactory academic progress as defined by the
Office of Financial Aid. Students may receive this scholarship in addition to
any of the scholarships listed above.

Colorado Resident Transfer Scholarships
Students must be enrolled in 12 or more credits each semester. UNC Transfer Bear Tracks ScholarshipAwarded to new Colorado resident transfer students who transfer in at least 24
credits earned after high school graduation with a 2.5-3.1 gpa. (AP/CLEP/IB/ and
military credit are not counted in the 24 transfer credits.) Nonrenewable.
Amount: $1,000/year ($500 Fall/$500 Spring)
UNC Phi Theta Kappa ScholarshipAutomatically offered to Colorado resident who transfers from a Colorado
Community College and qualifies for one of the scholarships above. Must have
been a member of Phi Theta Kappa at the Community College. Requires completion
of the University of Northern Colorado Universal Scholarship Application before
March 1 to be considered OR documentation of Phi Theta Kappa membership if
admitted after the March 1 scholarship application deadline. Renewable if
student maintains satisfactory academic progress as defined by the Office of
Financial Aid.
Amount: $1,000/year ($500 Fall/$500 Spring)

Offered to students who transfer with 30 or more semester hours (hours earned
beginning with fall semester following high school graduation) and a cumulative
GPA of 3.2 or above. Must be admitted to UNC by June 15 if enrolling for the
first time in Fall Semester or November 1 if enrolling for the first time in
Spring Semester. Transcripts verifying eligibility must be on file at UNC by
June 15 if enrolling Fall or November 1 if enrolling Spring. First year of UNC
enrollment only. Nonrenewable.

Offered to students who transfer with a completed Associate (AA or AS) degree at
a community college and a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above. Must be admitted to
UNC by June 15 if enrolling for the first time in Fall Semester or November 1 if

Resident & Non-Resident Upperclassmen Scholarships
Students must be enrolled in 12 or more credits each semester. Competitive, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior students who have attained at least a
3.5 cumulative GPA at UNC in at least 30 cumulative semester hours may compete

UNC Western Undergraduate Exchange ScholarshipAwarded to new non-resident, first-time freshman students from the following
states (Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico,
North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming) with 101-105
index. Student maintains satisfactory academic progress as defined by the Office of
Financial Aid.

Non-Resident Transfer Scholarships

Institutional Program Scholarships
For students who are accepted into CUMBRES Program, a program for students who
plan to become K-12 teachers with endoresments in Bilingual Education or English
as a Second Language; Competitive.

General Scholarships
Unless otherwise noted, you must use the UNC Universal Scholarship Application to apply for the following scholarships. Students must be enrolled in 12 or more credits each semester. In addition to officer development & commissioning, AFROTC has a variety of
merit based scholarships designed for college students. The program offers two,
three, and four year undergraduate scholarships paying tuition & fees, $600
per year allowance for books and a $250-400 monthly stipend. For students not
eligible for scholarships, Air Force ROTC provides a contract incentive of $3000
per year for tuition & a $250-400 per month allowance to cadets enrolled in
the upper division AFROTC courses.

scholarships up to $17,000 per year paying tuition & fees, $600 per year
allowance for books and a $250-400 monthly stipend. For students not eligible
for scholarships, Army ROTC provides a $350 minimum monthly allowance to cadets
enrolled in upper-division ROTC courses.
