Summer Employment

  • Full-time summer work study aid requires a separate application available Jan 1st, and due by March 1st, on the financial aid site under Forms, in addition, you must be an on-time applicant with the FAFSA application (March 1st).
  • You are not required to take summer courses if you are receiving full-time summer work-study aid.
  • You must work 32-40 hours per week. 32 hours per week while enrolled in one class per summer session during office work hours, or work 40 hours per week and take no classes.
  • Priority will be given to those who demonstrate the greatest need. You must choose which program you want to participate in: Full-Time Summer Work Study or attend summer school with the possible help of low-interest bank loans, Pell Grants or other need-based programs.
  • Summer student-employees (students not receiving full-time work study aid) must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for undergraduates and 5 credit hours for graduate students, in either summer or fall semesters.
