Recipients of the College’s awards were recognized during the spring college-wide meeting. Those recipients were:
Excellence in Teaching
Michelle Chamberlin, School of Mathematical Sciences
Matthew Semak, School of Chemistry, Earth Sciences and Physics (Physics)
Excellence in Scholarship
Stephen Mackessy, School of Biological Sciences
Excellence in Service
Kathryn Blair, School of Nursing
Faculty Research Mentor of the Year, undergraduate level
Chhandak Basu, School of Biological Sciences
Faculty Research Mentor of the Year, graduate level
Kathryn Bright, School of Human Sciences (Audiology and Speech-Language Sciences)
Each award recipient received an engraved plaque as well as an allocation of $500 to be used for professional development.
The meeting also included other College business including updates from the year and an overview of the FY2008 budget proposal process. The budget discussions were aided by Provost Allen Huang and Vice President for Administration Randy Haack, who gave a brief overview of the budget process and then made time available for a budget-related question-and-answer session.
