I was born and raised in Elizabethtown, KY, the same Elizabethtown that Cameron Crowe made a not terrible but not great movie about. I spent most of my time playing soccer, camping, and working with my dad, mom, and brother building houses.

After my freshman year of undergraduate studies, I went on my first long road trip with two friends across the United States, and since then I have been addicted to traveling. I generally save most of my money for future travel experiences. During the first semester of my senior year of undergraduate studies I studied a semester in Perth, Australia at Edith Cowan University. Once finishing that semester I spent two weeks backpacking across Australia and the north island of New Zealand. The summer between my undergraduate and graduate studies I backpacked across western Europe for one month, and the summer after completing my masters I backpacked across China and Nepal for one month. I earned both my B.S. in Mathematics and M.A. in Mathematics at the University of Kentucky.

I am currently working on my doctorate in Educational Mathematics at the University of Northern Colorado. Now I spend my time working on my coursework, the classes I teach, running, playing soccer, skiing, and backpacking (sometimes not in the exact order).
