a math camp at the university of northern colorado

Unfortunately, Math Camp 2011 will not be taking place due to lack of funding.

Check back at the end of the year for information on the 2012 summer camp.

What is Math Camp?

Started in Summer 2008 by mathematics professors Dr. Hortensia Soto-Johnson and Dr. Cathleen Craviotto, Las Chicas de Matematicás is a $31,000 program funded through UNC's office of enrollment management and the Mathematical Association of America's Tensor Foundation. The summer math camp, which includes a week-long stay in Snyder Hall, is free to participants.

About Us

Math Camp at the University of Northern Colorado is a residential summer program which engages young women in learning about mathematics. If you'd like to learn more, check out the main links or view the photo galleries created by the math camp participants. The girls also put together a neat summary of the Camp C's.

Technology Day

Tech Savvy chicas!

On October 16, 2010, four chicas came back to UNC for a reunion with staff members and counselors. Check out the 2010 galleries to look at the photo albums they put together, or at the 2010 slideshow Dr. Diaz created.

(From Technology Day, October 16, 2010)

The second annual Technology Day was again a success! With help from Dave, the girls compiled new photo albums from the past year.

Gallaries from previous years are still online too!

It is definitely a change to be around girls who are as good or better at math than me. It is nice to be able to look up to girls who are really confidence in math because I don’t get that at my school.
