NHS Distinguished Lecturer Series

The College of Natural and Health Sciences hosted a series of distinguished lectures in which NHS College Award winners were the featured speakers. Each lecture was followed by a short reception.

Presentations

Thursday, April 23, 3:30-4:30PM, Ross 1010: Dr. Paul Nutter, Assistant Professor in the Earth Sciences Program and the winner of the 2007 Excellence in Service Award, will present on Academic Shoestrings: Tying Service to Productive Teaching and Research in Meteorology.

Wednesday, November 19, 3:30-4:30PM, Ross 0060: Dr. Robert Powers, Associate Professor in the School of Mathematical Sciences and the winner of the 2007 Excellence in Teaching Award, presented on The Professional Development of Secondary Teachers through Lesson Experiments.

Thursday, October 30, 2:00-3:00PM, Ross Hall 1040: Dr. Jennifer Clarke, Professor in the School of Biological Sciences and the winner of the 2007 Graduate Research Mentor of the Year Award, presented on Moonlight, Mates and Motherhood: Animal Behavior at UNC.
