3rd year, Au.D. Sarah Gill Awarded National Scholarship

Sarah Gill (3rd year, Au.D.) was awarded one of two national scholarships from the National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA) Scholarship Foundation for her mentored research project here at UNC. Sara will receive a $1500 award. She will also be honored at the upcoming National NHCA conference on February 15-17, 2007 in Savannah, Georgia. Her research is entitled, "Parental Hearing Loss Prevention Knowledge and Behaviors".

Alumni Cheryl DeConde Johnson Receives the Trail Blazer Award

Alumni Cheryl DeConde Johnson is this year's recipient of UNC's Trail Blazer Award. Dr. Johnson received her M. A. in 1976 and Ed.D. in 1982 from UNC in the areas of Audiology and Special Education, respectively. She has received this award due to her stellar contributions to the field at the local, national, and international levels. Dr. Johnson will be honored by the UNC Alumni Association during several events in conjunction with this year's UNC homecoming.
