Financial Support - Residential Programs
The Doctor of Audiology and on-campus (residential) Master’s in Speech Language Pathology degree programs are approved by the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). WICHE’s 15-state region includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. Under this approval, students from the other 14 states can attend UNC at the Colorado resident graduate tuition rate rather than the non-resident rate.
Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP)
The majority of graduate students in the residential programs for audiology and speech-language pathology receive some financial support. Funding may be found through a variety of sources including UNC Financial Aid, UNC Graduate School (includes Foundation) and the ASLS Program. To access these opportunities please review the following information and complete all appropriate applications no later than March 1, 2013.
UNC Graduate School - note that UNC participates in the Western Regional Graduate Exchange (WICHE) Program
ASLS Scholarships and Awards - please send application directly to the program
Examples of awards through ASLS include but are not limited to:
- Graduate Assistantships
- SLP Scholarships for Early Intervention Focus
- The Colorado Mason Benevolent Fund and the Scottish Rite Foundation of Colorado award four annual graduate scholarships in speech-language pathology to students each year who intend to focus on early intervention. Students apply in the spring of their first year. Student recipients are honored at the Annual Scottish Rite Foundation banquet in September.
- ASLS Alumni Scholarship
Financial Support - Online MA: SLP
You may apply for financial aid through the University's Office of Financial Aid. University financial aid includes scholarships, student loans, work-study, and other programs. In order to be eligible for these university-wide programs, it is necessary for you to submit a "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" (FAFSA) by the mid-February deadline posted on this site. Financial statements submitted after the deadline will be processed but will receive a lower priority and funding will be subject to funds available.
Because the program typically requires fewer than nine credit hours per semester, you should talk with a financial aid officer about the types of aid for which you would be eligible.
