Microsoft Windows 7
STATUS: Phase 4 – Campus Deployment
Microsoft Windows 7 is currently deployed to 62% of all Windows based computers on campus. If you're interested in upgrading to Windows 7 contact the Technical Support Center at (970) 351-4357 and submit a support request, there is no charge to upgrade to Windows 7 on University owned computers. Windows 7 can be purchased from Bear Logic for home and personal computers. Window 7 Service Pack 1
STATUS: Phase 4 - Campus Deployment
The Innovative Technology Committee has recommended the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 be deployed to campus. Windows 7 Service Pack 1 will be deployed to all Windows based computers this month as a part of the patch management process.
Microsoft Office 2010
STATUS: Phase 4 – Campus Deployment
Microsoft Office 2010 is currently deployed to 46% of all Windows based computers on campus. If you're interested in upgrading to Office 2010 contact the Technical Support Center at (970) 351-4357 and submit a support request, there is no charge to upgrade to Office 2010 on University owned computers. Office 2011 home use licenses for faculty and staff can be purchased from Bear Logic at a significantly discounted price. Microsoft Office 2011 for Macintosh
STATUS: Phase 4 - Campus Deployment
Microsoft Office 2011 for Macintosh is currently being deployed to campus when it is requested by faculty and staff. Office 2011 has also been deployed to lab and classroom computers. There is no software charge to upgrade to Office 2011 on University owned Apple computers. Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010
STATUS: Phase 4 - Campus Deployment
A majority of all existing SharePoint sites have been migrated to Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010. All new SharePoint site requests are being created in SharePoint 2010. All SharePoint sites that have not been accessed or changed for over one year are being audited to determine whether or not they are still needed.
Microsoft Office 2010 Service Pack 1
STATUS: Phase 3 - Early Adopters
Microsoft Office 2010 Service Pack 1 has been installed on various computers across campus. The Innovative Technology Group will discuss campus deployment during their October meeting.
Apple OS X Lion
STATUS: Phase 3 - Early Adopters
Mac OS X Lion is currently being tested by the Innovative Technology Committee members as well as on all Apple computers purchased after the software was released. The Apple Enterprise Server Environment will require an update to the new OS to fully manage the Apple OS X Lion client machines. Institutional purchases of Apple OS X Lion will be purchased directly from Bear Logic not though the Apple Store.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 9
STATUS: Phase 3 - Early Adopters
Windows Internet Explorer 9 has been released by Microsoft and is installed on some campus computers. The browser is not fully supported by Blackboard, therefore the Innovative Technology Committee has not recommending campus deployment at this time.
Adobe Acrobat X
STATUS: Phase 2 - Detailed Testing and Compatibility
Adobe Acrobat X is currently being tested by the Innovative Technology Committee and various Information Management & Technology personnel. During our initial testing we have experienced some problems with various websites. Although the Acrobat X Reader is available for download from the Adobe website, the Innovative Technology Committee has not completed its testing and they are not recommending it for download.
Microsoft Windows 8
STATUS: Phase 1- Technical Overview and Research
Microsoft Windows 8 is being researched and evaluated internally by the Innovative Technology Committee.
