IM&T Project Request Process
The FY16 IM&T project request process is now open. The project request process exists to help the University plan and prioritize major Information Management and Technology initiatives. Projects will be evaluated and accepted based on their alignment with the Universities 9 core plans. This process will run in parallel with the Facilities capital request process for FY16. You do not need to submit your project through both of these requests process. Please use this IM&T project process if your need is related to software purchase, development, or implementation. Please contact either Bret Naber or Kirk Leichliter for guidance on which request process to use. It is important that all project requests be submitted whether you have internal funding, potential donor funding, grant funding or are requesting central UNC funding, in order to evaluate projects as part of the overall planning process for the University.
Forms should be submitted by November 1, 2014. All requests will be assigned to a project manager who will work with the requestor to confirm the project scope and prepare an estimate. Requests will also be reviewed to determine on-going operating impacts to the University. Project requests will then be prioritized, with final approval and funding articulated in the FY16 budget process next spring.
Please do not submit new project request for projects you have submitted in previous years. We will continue to track project requests unless they are withdrawn by the requesting unit.
A project is not a bug or issue, a request for a new keyboard or other equipment, or a request for help on our existing applications. These are maintenance requests and should always be requested through our Technical Support Center.
