ASL- English Interpretation Program

BA: ASL-English Interpretation - Tuition/Costs and Financial Aid

As a national distance-learning program, a differential tuition fee has been established. This means all ASLEI students pay the same tuition whether they live across the street or across the country. This fee is reviewed annually by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education. For the 2011-2012 academic year, the tuition is $340 per credit hour. For planning purposes, tuition costs are projected to increase by 9% annually for the next few years.

Instructional materials will vary by course, but will average approximately $150 per course over the life of the program.

Summer Expenses

  • In addition to the tuition and course required materials, summer expenses include travel, room and board and any other personal costs .
  • .On-campus Residence Halls with 2-bedroom shared suites (private bedroom, shared bath, living area and communial kitchen area) allow for cost-sharing with peers in the program and are made available during the summer sessions at the approximate cost of $50.00 per person/per night. Similar to a hotel holding a block of rooms for a specific conference, the Residence Hall units will be available for ASLEI students.
  • There are certain advantages to being with classmates and working together toward a common goal. Students may choose not to stay on campus, but are on their own to secure living arrangements for the month.

Financial Aid Information

Students who cannot pay for tuition alone are encouraged to apply for federal financial aid. Students must first complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA priority filing date for each academic year (which begins each August) is March 1. Late submissions of the FAFSA are still accepted but may not be considered for the maximum amount of aid.

Bachelor’s students require enrollment in a minimum of 6 credits per academic term for financial aid eligibility. Full time enrollment is based on 12 credits.

To apply for federal financial aid assistance
