Intensive English Program (IEP) Application INSTRUCTIONS

We are excited you are interested in the Intensive English Program (IEP) at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC).

*Students must have a basic understanding of the English language. You should know the English alphabet and have completed high school (upper secondary school). 
*Submit this application and supporting documents by the term deadline you wish to begin. Completed applications not received by the deadlines will be deferred to a later term.

What to do BEFORE you apply:

  • Items you will upload on application. Scan and save to your computer
  • A photo-quality copy of the bio page of your passport (example below):

               Photo showing the passport's data page, now on page two, which has thicker paper than other pages and a watermark; the Great Seal and flag design is new; and all pages now have random fibers that fluoresce under UV.

  • A photo-quality copy of the bio page of each family member’s passport, if they will join you.  Submit a proof of your relationship with each family member. This may be a marriage license or certificate or birth certificates.   
  • A  photo-quality copy of the bio page of any current US visas (if you have one)
  • Financial documents verifying how you will pay for the first year of studies: $27,700 USD. This can be either a bank statement or scholarship letter. If you will have dependents coming with you, please show funds for them also: $6,000 USD for the first dependent, $5,000 USD for each additional dependent.

What to do AFTER you submit the application:

  • Submit original certified transcripts, mark sheets, diplomas and certificates from each institution attended.
    • If they are not in English, submit a notarized English translation with each document.
    • Submit either a high school graduation transcript OR highest level of education achieved.
  • Pay the $60 USD application fee (Applications cannot be processed before the fee is received)
    • Mailing a check or money order
    • Calling the office at +1 970 351 1811 to pay by credit card. Our office hours are 8:00AM - 5:00PM (MST) Monday through Friday.
