The Center for the Enhancement of Teaching & Learning (CETL) provides innovative education services and programs to enhance learning for faculty, staff, teaching assistants, academic leaders, and the academic community.
We aspire to be recognized leaders who push the frontier of teaching and learning within the university community and within academe external to the institution.
Our Guiding Values
Quality
We foster practices that make a positive difference for our institution. We work with integrity and are fiscally responsible, returning high value in return of the campus' trust. We seek to reach out to all sectors without compromising our commitment to quality outcomes.
Collaboration
We value the power and synergy that comes from working with a multitude of campus units. We share the responsibilities and the successes, working together for the greater good.
Creativity & Innovation
We value the freedom to explore new frontiers in learning, technology, research, and every facet of our work. We encourage the risk-taking that is necessary for leading-edge work and continuous improvement. We require a high degree of autonomy to be creative and accomplish our goals.
Respect
We value the good intentions of the educators with whom we are engaged.
We believe in a healthy work-life balance that enables each of us to do our best
work to serve individuals.
Learning and Knowledge
We value knowledge and the generation of knowledge as the fundamental building blocks of our efforts. We strive to create new and valuable learning opportunities for teachers, leaders, learners, and ourselves and to incorporate existing knowledge into new tools and strategies. We believe that each member of CETL benefits from professional development and learning. As a result, the academic community benefits.
Service
Service to the UNC community is our passion and our focus.
Diversity
The CETL embraces differences in culture, education, vocation, age, gender, and thought. This, ultimately, enhances our mission.
