ASAP's mission is to facilitate the recovery of sexual assault, intimate partner violence and stalking survivors by creating a safe environment in which the student survivor may complete her/his education. This is accomplished by the provision of crisis, academic, and advocacy services to the survivor and her/his significant other(s).
ASAP is a partnership of student volunteers and professional staff that provides confidential medical, legal, administrative, and law enforcement advocacy, support and crisis intervention, information and referral for survivors 24 hours a day, seven days a week August through May.
In addition, ASAP provides education and prevention programs to increase awareness of sexual assault, intimate partner violence and stalking issues on the UNC campus. Preventive and educational efforts include presentations and training for the university community. This programming addresses diverse campus populations, and is offered throughout the academic year. A resource library is available for educational and research purposes which supports the academic mission of the university.
All program services are available to UNC students who feel they have been violated, regardless of where the assault occurs.
