Find Me

I was thinking
about how I could help you
get to know me
I mean the me
behind the breasts
beyond the blonde
beneath the benevolence
there are some things
significant things
that you ought to know
if one day
you decide to love me.
There are three golden flecks
encased in sea skies
you will only see them
when you are so close to my face
like when you lips influence mine
for the first time….
Through them you might see
my deepest fear—Loss—
of life—of leverage—
of beauty—of bounty;
perhaps you might see
my greatest love—Justice—
for children—for change—
for women—for war;
perhaps you might see
my signficant strength—Resilience—
from pain—from poverty—
from hate—from habit;
eventually you will see
my intense influence—Faith—
in true love—in the Lord—
in destiny—in determination;
I was thinking
that I want you to find me
behind the voice
beyond the valor
beneath the veneration;
I am waiting.
